Luke Harding is the main protagonist in the TRACES series. He is a 16 year-old Forensic Investigator whose Mobile Aid to Law and Crime is Malc. Luke graduated from Birmingham School at the beginning of Framed!. So far he has solved seven cases of murder while still the youngest FI to ever qualify from school. He is shown to be disobedient to The Authorities and arrested on one occasion. Luke lived in London, England.

Luke often is mild tempered and is sarcastic. He eats pomegranates at almost any meal and is upset if he can't get any. His muscles are well developed and can run at speed unheard of even competing against a good runner Jed Jester.
Luke Harding is very caring, kind, understanding, and very smart. Why? If you haven't read Roll Call yet he carries Emily Wonder (11 year old girl) who was badly injured and hasn't ate in 3 weeks. When Malc told Luke that he should abandon Emily and take care of himself. (Because a huge wave was coming in) He never took a chance and kept trying to find shelter for the both of them.
He never gives up and tries to find the answer to everything. He would do anything to find that case and close it. I am for sure he would do anything to solve a case. Relationships
Jade Vernon- He is in love with her, but he is an FI and she is a musician so they cannot be paired together. But it doesn't matter to the both of them because they are both in love with each other and nothing ever gonna make them apart
Malc is his floating robot that follows him everywhere. He helps him with cases through out the books and gives information about whatever he's talking about. You can consider him one of Luke's closest friends.
Georgia Bowie- She's the one who he's suppose to be paired with. They have a good relationship with each other, but Luke doesn't want to spend his whole life with her, he'd rather spend time with Jade.
His Parents - He love's his parents but the only time they met was after Luke went to school, he had to interview them because his dad was the prime suspect. He always have wanted to have a good relationship with them but I guess...he doesn't really see them.
Owen - Luke's one and only good, trustworthy, friend. Other than Malc, Luke he can always rely on his good pal Owen. They've helped each other through out the books, but they mostly make a deal out of it.

Luke Harding holds the record at Birmingham School for Archery, along with the record for youngest person to become a forensic investigator, which was only opposed by Crispin, who never ends up beating this record due to a minor inconvenience.
